FABRIC PRINTS
Fabric Prints is a design exploration developed for upholstery textiles, inspired by the intricate biological illustrations of Ernst Haeckel. The project draws from Haeckel’s detailed studies of microscopic organisms and natural forms, translating their geometric complexity and organic symmetry into contemporary textile patterns.
The designs feature radial compositions, repeating motifs, and delicate structural forms that echo natural biological structures. These elements create visually rich patterns suitable for upholstery applications while maintaining a strong artistic identity. The compositions explore both dense pattern arrangements and minimal motif placements, allowing the prints to adapt to different furniture scales and interior environments.
A refined monochromatic palette enhances the depth and texture of the patterns, allowing the intricate details to stand out against contrasting backgrounds. The collection demonstrates how scientific illustration and natural morphology can inspire modern textile design, creating fabrics that are both visually striking and timeless.
